The Week ahead
If there is no war...
If the situation in South Asia stays stable, the markets might just see a little bounce. The only thing standing in the way right now is Oracle Corporation. If things get worse in Asia, see the cover story.
Oracle Corporation just finished its quarter on Friday. If it warns, technology stocks will take a hit. If it doesn't warn, technology stocks might just bounce. As simple as that, Oracle is one of the best gauges of business spending.
Oracles gets most of its revenue from business spending. How many Oracle products do you see at Best Buy? Do you ever see any of their stuff shipping with Microsoft Windows, or on a Computer from Dell? No. If Oracle has managed to merely meet its reduced numbers, it could be taken as an all clear for technology stocks.
On the other hand, good news from Oracle could be quashed by more talk of Nuclear war. If Oracle is going to warn, it will be on Monday.
